LOS ANGELES, July 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LOS ANGELES, CA – M-Rad – a design, architecture, and development studio located in Los Angeles, has been selected to design the first private members club for the elite cannabis industry players in the heart of the historic jewelry district in downtown Los Angeles. While preserving its historic characteristics, M-Rad is redesigning the building which was originally constructed in 1913; converting it to a modern, mixed-use space. 718 South Hill Street stands 85 feet tall with a total of seven distinct floors and over 67,000 square feet of highly curated space, carefully assembled by Matthew Rosenberg, M-Rad’s Founder and CEO, and Sean Beddoe, managing partner of Bow West Capital. The building will feature its flag tenant, Green Street Agency– a full service creative agency that works exclusively within the cannabis industry, and which was recently acquired by Gary Vaynerchuk.
Alongside Green Street Agency, supporting tenants include heavy hitters such as Timeless Vapes, MOTA, Vicente Sederberg, amongst many others. The building will serve as a professional and community hub for progressive entrepreneurs dedicated to advancing the cannabis space. Members will have access to four levels of communal and private office suites, a co-working space, a cannabis spa, private performance bar, testing facilities, rooftop lounge, underground bar, an art gallery, cafe, retail space, and special perks like ACE Hotel discounts. To top it off, members will have priority access to the 230 seat restaurant on the ground level which M-Rad specifically designed to suit the contemporary cannabis connoisseur.
“As the cannabis industry becomes more compliant with government regulations in California, we saw an opportunity to participate in the success of this rapidly growing industry and chose to invest in the project,” explains Matthew Rosenberg. “A fundamental element of our mission is to help create thriving cities. As the cannabis industry evolves to become accepted as a luxury product, we anticipate having the opportunity to expand the cannabis hub concept beyond the South Hill Street building, rejuvenating the entire city block.”
Since jewelry retail sales have fallen in recent years, the Los Angeles Jewelry District has seen a significant shift in demographics. The historic buildings in this area are becoming hot commodities for non-jewelry type tenants, allowing for the redevelopment of the district into non-traditional creative retail and office spaces, trendy boutique hotels, and multi-family housing. “Green Street Agency is an ideal partner on this project,” says Sean Beddoe, founder and President of Bow West Capital. “They envision the future of the cannabis industry and its role in the development of downtown LA. We are excited for the opportunity to be involved in both an emerging industry and revitalization of a historic downtown neighborhood.”
It’s no doubt this innovative hub will be the headquarters for the biggest players in the cannabis industry. The prosperous cannabis industry has been looking for a new place to call home, so it’s no surprise Green St. Agency has chosen to lay their foundation in a part of L.A. with unlimited potential for growth. Green St. Agency will be relocating from the Desmond building penthouse suites on Wilshire Blvd. along with three floors of cannabis partners. “Now more than ever professional cannabis services, products, and cross-branding opportunities are in high demand,” says Rama Mayo, President of Green St. Agency. “Our vision is to create the very first professional cannabis campus here in LA and look forward to sharing this groundbreaking experience with the community.”
With the interior demolition complete, construction is well underway. has already begun. The community is eagerly anticipating the opening of 718 South Hill Street which is slated to be completed by the end of 2018.
