D-Box Celebrates Another Milestone by Hitting 100 Screens in Canada

MONTREAL, June 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — D-BOX Technologies Inc. (D-BOX) (TSX:DBO), a world leader in immersive entertainment experiences, is pleased to announce another major milestone with the installation of their 100th screen in Canada.

This extraordinary success across the country started in 2009 with the very first installation of D-BOX motion seats at the Cineplex Cinemas Queensway and VIP in Etobicoke, Ontario. Timed to coincide with the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, this first experience dazzled audiences by completely immersing them into the major blockbuster.

It wasn’t long before word of mouth spread and more exhibitors took notice, propelling the company’s unequalled motion technology onto the radar screens of moviegoers and premium entertainment seekers around the world.

“Reaching 100 screens in Canada is indescribable because the unparalleled success we’re enjoying globally started right here nearly 10 years ago,” says Claude Mc Master, CEO and President of D-BOX Technologies.  “We want to thank Cineplex for giving us that amazing first opportunity and also want to express our gratitude to Jean Colbert, owner of the independent theatre in Beloeil and St-Hyacinthe, for the trust and confidence he placed in D-BOX.  Jean Colbert was the first independent theatre owner to install D-BOX motion seats in Beloeil, Québec in 2009. Because they believed in us in the early days, we have become the leading provider of immersive entertainment experiences in 40 countries across the planet.”

“Even though D-BOX was a brand new technology back in 2009, we had a strong feeling that it would be a smart business move,” says Jean Colbert, owner and promotor of Cinema St-Hyacinthe and Beloeil.  “We are always extremely happy to give an innovative, local company with a unique technology the chance to shine. Plus, when your customers get an exceptional, immersive experience it pays off at the box office, so it was a win-win situation for us both.”
