Renowned industry experts across industrial IoT, infrastructure security, and entrepreneurship will help Dover capitalize on the market opportunity for CoreGuard™

WALTHAM, Mass., May 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dover Microsystems today announced the creation of a formal advisory board. Three recognized industry leaders in their respective fields – industrial IoT, infrastructure security, and startup operations – will help guide Dover through the company’s next stage of growth. Inaugural members of the board are Dr. Richard Soley, Executive Director of the Industrial Internet Consortium; Michael Wallace, a well-regarded expert on critical infrastructure security and current joint leader of NIAC’s Working Group on Cybersecurity; and Rob Kornblum, a 25-year startup veteran and former venture capitalist.

Richard Soley is the founder and Executive Director of the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) as well as the current Chairman and CEO of Object Management Group, the world’s largest standards consortium for developers of model-driven architecture. In his role with the IIC, Dr. Soley works to accelerate the development, adoption, and wide-spread use of interconnected machines and devices, intelligent analytics, and people. A graduate of MIT, Dr. Soley also serves on numerous industrial, technical and academic conference program committees, and speaks all over the world on issues relevant to standards, the adoption of new technology, and creating successful companies.

“Industrial industries are undergoing a rapid transformation. The evolution of sensor technology coupled with advancements in machine learning and analytic capabilities have created an unprecedented opportunity to optimize processes and improve profits. Ensuring those systems are protected from cybersecurity threats is a top priority – which is why I am thrilled to be on Dover’s advisory board as they will play an integral role in securing the Industrial IoT revolution,” noted Dr. Soley.

Michael Wallace is a well-recognized leader in critical infrastructure security. Mr. Wallace is a member of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC), which advises the President of the United States on matters related to Homeland Security, and for which he has led several studies related to cybersecurity. In addition, he is a member of the Electric Sector Coordinating Council which guides the electric sector on various matters, including cybersecurity.

His extensive experience creating and leading organizations that deliver safe nuclear power has also led him to serve as Chairman of the Nuclear Energy Institute’s (NEI) Security Working Group (overseeing security for all 104 U.S. nuclear power plants) and Chairman of the Nuclear Sector Coordinating Council under the Department of Homeland Security’s National Infrastructure Protection Plan. He served as a senior executive at ComEd (Exelon now) and Constellation Energy Group, retiring as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer from the latter. A former naval officer in the U.S. Nuclear Navy’s submarine force, Mr. Wallace holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

“The issue of cybersecurity has never been more pressing. From businesses to government, maintaining the security, safety, and privacy of our systems and data is critical. As IoT continues to grow and the world becomes increasingly connected, Dover Microsystems is primed to deliver a proven solution for protecting embedded systems and fending off even the most sophisticated network-based cyberattacks,” commented Mr. Wallace.

Rob Kornblum is an experienced business leader and investor focused on building high-growth companies. He joins Dover’s advisory board to help the company uncover and execute revenue growth initiatives. A serial entrepreneur and former venture capitalist, Mr. Kornblum was most recently an Entrepreneur in Residence at GE Ventures. His vast experience and emphasis on innovation has led him to serve as an advisor to many entrepreneurs and author a recently released book, “Never Too Late to Startup,” a guide for mid-life entrepreneurs. Mr. Kornblum holds an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and is a member of the Society of Kauffman Fellows.

“The market for cybersecurity is crowded with vendors who approach the problem in the same way – with layers of inherently flawed software. Dover’s hardware-based approach is truly a novel advancement as it flips the conventional wisdom about security upside down and solves the problem in an entirely new way,” noted Mr. Kornblum. “Jothy is a proven entrepreneur and I am looking forward to working with him and the Dover team to bring this unique offering to market.”

“Our company is on a mission to empower processors to defend themselves in real-time from security, safety, and privacy risks. Our CoreGuard™ solution is a revolutionary approach; one that requires a new way of thinking about how we solve the problem of cybersecurity. With the creation of a formal advisory board, our team will benefit from the advice and expertise of those that not only intimately understand the markets we target but can guide us towards the best opportunities to transform the industry,” said Jothy Rosenberg, Dover Microsystems Co-Founder and CEO.
