FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 14, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Crestline Hotels & Resorts announced that it has been awarded the management of a dual-branded hotel project at Columbia Place in Washington D.C.’s historic Shaw neighborhood. Slated to open in the third quarter of 2018, the mixed-use project will include a newly built 357-guest room Courtyard hotel and a 147-guest suite Residence Inn hotel. Located at 901 L Street, NW, the planned hotels will be adjacent to the Washington D.C. Convention Center and in the heart of the Central Business District, close to Capitol Hill. The hotels will share approximately 10,000 square feet of meeting space comprised of multiple meetings rooms, a board room, and three hospitality suites. Additional joint hotel amenities include a fitness facility and full-service restaurant. Capstone Development and Quadrangle Development are the owners and developers of Columbia Place. The architect of record is Cooper Carry.
“We are thrilled to be part of this significant undertaking which is one of the most exciting new redevelopment projects in the nation’s capital,” said James Carroll, President & CEO of Crestline Hotels & Resorts, LLC. “Located just steps from the D.C. Convention Center, these two hotels will provide comfortable upscale accommodations and amenities for business and leisure travelers,” added Carroll.
The Courtyard by Marriott will have 357 spacious guest rooms and an independently operated full-service restaurant which will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each guest room is designed with a smart flexible layout, including a spacious work desk, complimentary high-speed wireless Internet, a flat screen television, and deluxe bedding. Information is easily accessed in the hotel’s lobby through the interactive GoBoard® technology featuring a 55-inch LCD touch screen that provides up-to-date news, weather, maps, airline flight status, and local information.
The Residence Inn by Marriott offers flexible spaces and amenities to help maintain a healthy balance and routine while traveling. There will be 147 spacious, residential-style studios, and one and two-bedroom suites offering accommodations that are larger than traditional hotel guestrooms. The guest suite layout provides separate zones where guests can relax, work, eat, and sleep. Suite kitchens are outfitted with full-sized refrigerators and stainless-steel appliances, while sectional sofas, flat screen televisions, and luxurious bathrooms with extra storage space make it possible for travelers to live and rest comfortably. Contemporary and stylish design themes throughout the hotel will feature natural light and refreshing colors.
For meetings and special events, the hotel offers a 4,000-square-foot outdoor roof-top terrace. There is a complimentary hot breakfast offered daily with a variety of quality items, including healthy alternatives. Other amenities include local grocery delivery service, a 24-hour market, and guest laundry room.
The Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott hotels are located at the intersection of 9th Street, NW and L Street, NW in Washington, D.C. Onsite parking will be available. Convenient to public transportation, Columbia Place is directly accessible via Metro’s Green Line (Mt. Vernon Square / Convention Center subway stop) and just 10 blocks from Union Station (for Amtrak train service).
