ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI), a leading provider of Health IT solutions to the federal government, is pleased to announce that the proceeds from its 18th Annual Golf Invitational at Argyle Country Club in Silver Spring, MD have been donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Special Love, a local organization benefitting children with cancer.
Nearly 150 players and volunteers came out for a great day of golf to raise funds for cancer victims and their families. Contributions from the October 16th event totaled $33,127. With PSI’s 100% matching donation, a total of $66,254 was collected. Of this amount, $28,982 was donated to the LLS, and $31,912 was donated to Special Love. The checks were presented to both charities by CEO Terry Lin at PSI’s holiday party at the Sheraton Tysons Hotel on December 5th.
This year, funds and awareness were also raised for 6-year-old Sophia Trujillo, who is in search of a bone marrow match in her fight against Aplastic Anemia.
“From our very first PSI charity golf tournament 18 years ago to today, our mission has been to give back to the community and bring our Government customers, partners and colleagues together to raise money for a very worthy cause,” said Mr. Lin. “These golfers came together, had a lot of fun, and didn’t forget for a moment that they were there to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer.”
