LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Century Veterinary Group announces upcoming Halloween Pet Costume Contest. Pet owners who think they have the perfect Halloween costume for their furry friends are invited to visit the clinic and compete for a prize package that includes a free exam, a free grooming package and more. The event is scheduled to begin October 26, 2015, and end the night of Halloween, October 31, 2015. Owners are encouraged to bring their costumed pets to the Venice Boulevard hospital anytime during regular business hours.
“Though we’re always serious about making sure our area pets lead healthy, happy lives and that all owners have the proper tools to help them do so, we also like to have fun,” said Dr. Jeff Werber, the chief of staff at CVG, who has been helping area pets for over 30 years. “Seeing such creative costumes on so many special pets is a real treat.”
Dr. Werber said anyone with a costumed pet is welcome to drop by, whether they’re clients or not, and no purchases of products are services are required to join in the fun. All pets will have their pictures taken, and, with the owner’s permission, the photos will be considered to go on the hospital’s social media pages.
A few days after Halloween, the Century Veterinary Group staff will confer and choose one overall winner based on all entries received. The winner will receive an impressive Grand Prize that includes a free exam and a free grooming package: a medicated bath, a nail trim and glands expressed.
“We have many great owners with great pets, and Halloween is always such a fun time for everyone to cut loose and find memorable creations,” Dr. Werber said. “We’re looking forward to seeing what kind of clever costumes our patients come up with.”
He does caution owners to make sure costumes are all pet-friendly – look for something that’s comfy and doesn’t limit movement, cause them anxiety or create choking hazards.
Costumed or not, fall is a perfect time to visit the vet. During October, owners receive 10 percent off of senior wellness panels, along with 20 percent off exams all month in honor of National Pet Obesity Awareness Day Oct. 14.
