GOLDEN, Colo., Sept. 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Coleman, the leading outdoor recreation company, announces its continued commitment to drive youth and families outdoors through a multi-year partnership with the National Park Foundation for the Find Your Park movement. As a national partner, Coleman has aligned with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, to celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service in 2016, and is encouraging everyone to get out there and explore all that our nation’s treasures have to offer.

During Great Outdoors Month this past June, Coleman brought 11,000 youth across the country camping as part of their Capital Campouts events series. In 13 different cities, youth and their families, Scout troops and governors spent time sleeping under the stars and exploring the outdoors as part of the experience. As a founding partner of National Great Outdoors Month and the inaugural Capital Campout events in 2014 and 2015, Coleman has donated over $178,000 in products, enabling over 22,000 youth across the country to experience camping for the first time and providing supplies for on-going Learn to Camp programs in states across the nation.

“For over 115 years, Coleman has been dedicated to outfitting families and individuals with the proper camping equipment, making it possible for them to enjoy the great outdoors,” said David Allen, President of Coleman U.S., “Coleman stands by the National Park Foundation’s mission to connect the next generation with our national parks in a meaningful way, and is committed to providing the tools to enable everyone to get out there and enjoy our nation’s treasures in an exciting way.”

Through 2017, Coleman will host a variety of outdoor experiences that will enable America’s youth and their families to connect with our national parks in unique ways. Coleman will also offer a limited edition line of products including grills, stoves, lanterns and coolers that commemorate our national parks to ensure Americans are well equipped to create their outdoor memories.

“Through their support, Coleman is helping people discover their own unique connections to America’s national parks,” said Will Shafroth, president and CEO of the National Park Foundation. “This prime example of public-private partnership demonstrates how together we can strengthen the National Park System and inspire more people to explore the variety of park experiences that can be enjoyed across the country.”
