It manufactures and markets BioThrax, a vaccine for the prevention of anthrax infection. This segment also involves in developing PreviThrax, a recombinant protective antigen anthrax vaccine; Anthrivig, a human anthrax immunoglobulin; Thravixa, a fully human anthrax monoclonal antibody; NuThrax, an anthrax vaccine absorbed with CPG 7909 adjuvant; and a double mutant recombinant protective antigen anthrax vaccine. The BioSciences segment includes clinical and preclinical stage investigational product candidates. This segment provides MVA-85A, a prophylactic recombinant tuberculosis vaccine; Typhella, a prophylactic vaccine for the treatment of typhoid; multivalent, cross-protective pandemic influenza vaccine; pandemic H5 influenza MAb, a monoclonal antibody therapeutic; SBI-087 a therapeutic for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and Systemic lupus erythematosus; and TRU-016, a therapeutic used in the treatment of Chronic lymphocytic leukemia and non-Hodgkins lymphoma disease. It sells its products to healthcare providers and purchasers for use in preventing and treating disease in the biodefense and commercial markets. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Rockville, Maryland.
