Wintec Protective Systems, a subsidiary of Medina International has received approval for the use of its non-toxic, patent pending Hydro-Tain oil adsorption product in US waterways in August 2011

Hydro-Tain is a coagulant that functions by adsorbing virtually any hydrocarbon based liquid.  WinTec Protective Systems, Inc. CEO Robert Doherty said that the need for Hydro-Tain is obvious due to the number of current high profile spills. He also believes that the EPA classification and subsequent approval for use of such product in waterways opens up an entirely new market segment for Hydro-Tain.
