HyTrust KeyControl Enables Scalability across Mixed Workloads and Disparate, Industry-Leading Compute, Storage and Virtualization Platforms

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — VMworld Conference – HyTrust announced today that it will demonstrate its mixed workload and broad key management integration with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) platforms for compute, storage and virtualization at VMworld 2018. HyTrust will showcase integration of HyTrust KeyControl in its own booth, as well as booths of industry-leading vendors, including IBM, Intel, and Lenovo. HyTrust KeyControl is also certified to work with solutions from Dell EMC, HPE Simplivity, NetApp, Nexenta, Pivot3, StorMagic SvSAN and VMware vSAN.

The importance of data security has never been higher with frequent breaches exposing valuable data that organizations hold. Ponemon Institute reports that the average cost of a data breach is $3.86 million with mega breaches involving 1 to 50 million records costing $40 million to $350 million1.

Data security for composable infrastructure is critical and tapping the capabilities offered by this infrastructure allows security to be built in rather than bolted on as an afterthought. HyTrust KeyControl provides universal key management for KMIP-compatible encrypted workloads to ensure that data is protected, even if accessed by an unauthorized party. It scales the management of encryption keys to tens of thousands including encryption keys across different platforms. Data encryption requires an external key manager, and HyTrust KeyControl simplifies the process while ensuring enterprise scale across mixed HCI platforms. Even existing, non-encrypted storage solutions can be easily encrypted and secured. The high-availability solution offers role-based key management and is easily upgradable to HyTrust DataControl for complete multi-cloud, complete lifecycle workload encryption using a virtual appliance.

“With the growth of hyper-converged Infrastructure and the expectation that enterprises will increasingly have mixed compute, storage and virtualization environments, it is essential to employ key management that can seamlessly extend across workloads and platforms,” said Eric Chiu, founder and president of HyTrust. “VMworld will serve as a proving ground and showcase the broad integration and industry preference for HyTrust KeyControl which has set the standard for key management in a world where data must be secured at all costs.”
