CLEVELAND, Aug. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE:PH), the global leader in motion and control technologies, today announced that Kurt A. Keller, Vice President and President – Asia Pacific Group, will retire after 38 years of dedicated service to the company. The company has appointed Michael Wee to succeed Mr. Keller as President – Asia Pacific Group, effective September 1, 2018.

Mr. Keller joined Parker in 1980 as a sales trainee with the Fluid Connectors Group, and served in a number of sales, marketing and operations positions during his career. He was named Vice President and President – Seal Group in 2009, and in 2012 relocated to Hong Kong to become Vice President and President – Asia Pacific Group, with responsibility for driving sales of all Parker technologies and products in the region. 

Commenting on Mr. Wee’s new role as President – Asia Pacific Group, Mr. Banks said, “Michael’s experience across several Parker groups, his knowledge and involvement with customers and channel partners, and his leadership in the development of Parker’s operations across greater China will serve him well as he assumes responsibility for the growth of our business and Win Strategy execution in the Asia Pacific region.”

Mr. Wee came to Parker in 2006 with the acquisition of domnick hunter, which he joined in 1994. He has held positions of increasing responsibility including General Sales Manager & General Manager for Parker’s China Sales Company, and Asia Pacific Regional General Manager for the Engineered Materials Group. Since his promotion to Country Managing Director for Greater China in 2013, Mr. Wee has been instrumental in shaping Parker’s operations to enable profitable growth in the region. He holds a Mechanical and Production Engineering diploma from Singapore Polytechnic, a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of London, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from INSEAD Business School and Tsinghua University.
