Technology, Transparency and Patient Experience Common Themes in Survey Responses
HOUSTON, June 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Transwestern and IMEG Corp. today released a co-authored report, The Convergence of Healthcare Delivery in the U.S., which summarizes responses of thought leaders from 24 healthcare-related organizations to critical questions facing the future of healthcare in the United States.
Lisa Feeley, Vice President in Transwestern’s Healthcare Advisory Group who spearheaded the report, said, “By taking a comprehensive view of the industry, our goal was to provide multiple viewpoints that can help each of us, regardless of our role along the healthcare spectrum, better prepare to deliver products and services to clients that ultimately improve the patient experience.”
Participants in the project represented healthcare systems, medical campuses and providers; professionals in commercial real estate, architecture, engineering and construction; healthcare consultants and analysts; and providers of medical products and digital health solutions. Several dominant themes emerged, most notably:
- The growing use of technology to drive down healthcare-related costs
- The intense focus on patient-centered care
- The importance of being nimble and transparent
- The solidification of the value-based healthcare model
- The rise of personalized medicine, outpatient care and home healthcare
- The significance of generational differences when it comes to buying habits, timeliness expectations and other factors
