BURBANK, Calif., May 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LBI Media, the fastest growing Spanish-language broadcasting company in the U.S., announced today that its Los Angeles flagship station KRCA-62 outperformed all TV networks regardless of language in the Los Angeles market ranking #1 across key demographics with the final results of its hit talent competition show “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento.”

This season’s winner, Luis Salgado, is a 48-year old construction worker from Baja California Sur, Mexico who resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Week after week Salgado captivated and intrigued the judges’ and audience’s attention with his enigmatic personality and gifted tenor voice. Salgado won a grand prize of $100,000 along with career launching support from LBI Media and EstrellaTV.

According to Nielsen(1), EstrellaTV and its hit talent competition show, “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento,” beat all competition among adults 18-49 and 25-54 in the Los Angeles market as it wrapped up its grand finale show on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. The show’s emotional finale took its competitors by storm and reigned supreme regardless of language during Prime Time followed by Univision, Telemundo, Fox and ABC.

“Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento,” EstrellaTV’s premier talent competition show, has consistently ranked #1 in the Los Angeles market and historically has outpaced not only its Hispanic competitors, but also general market television stations. In the Hispanic market, the show ranked #1 with a 2.0 rating among adults 18-34 outperforming Univision (1.5), Telemundo (0.8) and Unimas with a distant 0.3. Among Adults 18-49, EstrellaTV garnered a 2.9 rating followed by Univision (1.9), Telemundo (1.8) and Unimas (0.9). The show was also #1 across other key demos such as Adults 25-54, Households, Men 18-34, Men 18-49, and Men 25-54(2).

On a national level in Hispanic market, EstrellaTV ranked #3 in Prime (7P-11P) for the night, among Adults 25-54, as well as 8P-10P (Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento time period) among Adults 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 and P2+, experiencing audience significant growth from Spring 2017 Final +31% (Adults 18-49) and +32% (P2+)(3).
