MONTREAL, March 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Canadian Olympic figure skater Meagan Duhamel will join representatives of HSI/Canada at a press conference to discuss the closure of a South Korean dog meat farm and the successful transportation of more than 80 dogs to an emergency shelter in Montreal, Quebec. This is the 11th dog meat farm closure by Humane Society International.

Meagan Duhamel, whose dog Moo-tae was rescued from a dog meat farm, stated: “Millions of dogs are subjected to unspeakable deprivation and cruelty on intensive farms and brutally slaughtered every year for the South Korean dog meat trade. I am happy to join with Humane Society International and so many courageous South Korean advocates who are working to expose the plight of these dogs and to bring an end to this gruesome trade.”
