CHICAGO, Jan. 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Typenex Medical LLC, a leader in identification solutions for healthcare, announced today it has been awarded a three-year group purchasing contract with Vizient, the country’s largest member-owned health care service company providing supply chain management to hospitals across the U.S. The national contract, effective as of May 1, 2018, includes Typenex’s full portfolio of patient identification products.

“Improving patient care and achieving better patient outcomes will assist hospitals in complying with the Joint Commission Patient Safety System,” said Kim Canchola, Director of Patient Identification and Pediatrics. “We look forward to working with the member hospitals to provide positive identification with quality products that fit the demands of the hospital systems.”

The expanded contract offers Vizient members access to Typenex Medical’s full line of laser and thermal printed wristbands, traditional identification wristbands and alert products. “A key focus for Typenex Medical will be to assist the hospitals with providing positive identification throughout the continuum of care. We will achieve this by offering barcode solutions for patient identification in admissions as well as blood transfusion,” added Canchola.
