SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kadima.Ventures, a transformative collaboration of companies that offers resources to early-stage startups and legacy companies to evolve ideas into advanced technologies, continues its support of education and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) initiatives by launching the first-of-its-kind STEAM City at Barrett-Jackson’s 47th annual collector car auction at WestWorld of Scottsdale from January 13-21, 2018.

This highly-interactive experience will be open and available daily throughout the week, located in WestWorld’s Equidome Arena. Admission to STEAM City will be free to children 12 and under on opening day, Saturday, January 13, and will also be included with General Admission to Barrett-Jackson the remainder of the week.

Community businesses and organizations will participate in STEAM City that offers kids and families a unique and immersive experience.

This is the latest demonstration of STEAM leadership by Arizona-based Kadima.Ventures, as they continue to foster and inspire girls’ and boys’ interest in STEAM subjects by delivering fun, educational and interactive experiences.

Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, had this to say about this breakthrough addition to the auction, “Back in 2013, General Motors brought the first production 2014 Cadillac CTS V-Sport to our auction block, which sold to benefit the SAE Foundation, whose mission is to fund and promote STEAM education. Creation and innovation has not just fueled the auto industry, it has been vital for the growth of our country over centuries, and it is critical that we encourage the next generations to embrace that concept. STEAM City is a great way to engage kids and get them excited about being the next great innovators.”

Tim Wales, co-founder and CEO of Kadima.Ventures, also commented, “All young people should have opportunities that prepare them to think deeply and creatively so that they have the chance to become future educators, researchers, and leaders who can solve the most pressing local and global challenges. The current climate of economic uncertainty in our country makes it critical that, as we rely on innovation to remain competitive and prosper, the young minds of the next generation have the skills and knowledge they need to flourish and succeed. It is only through the holistic, multi-dimensional learning approach of STEAM can we ensure that success. We’re extremely proud to kick-off STEAM City at Barrett-Jackson, and look forward to taking it on the road from here,” said Wales.

Wales is scheduled to discuss STEAM City on Barrett-Jackson’s live stage on Thursday, January 18 at 5:15pm.
