Frisco, Texas, Dec. 14, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Founders Classical Academy of Frisco®, a ResponsiveEd® charter school, will open the doors of its new campus for the 2018-2019 year just north of All Stars Avenue on Frisco Street. The official groundbreaking to commemorate the new facility took place on the future site at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 13.
Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney along with Frisco Chamber of Commerce members were on-hand to welcome Headmaster Melanie Sharpless to the community after a rousing rendition of the National Anthem presented by the Frisco American Legion Post 178.
“The city officials in Frisco have welcomed us with open arms and we’re so thrilled to have their support in bringing another choice in education to this growing city,” said Sharpless. “What we are doing here is important. Delivering a moral and virtuous character based program is our mission and we’re looking forward to seeing the children walk through the doors next year.”
Around 50 local residents, parents, school faculty and district administrators joined the mayor and city officials in the celebration as the first shovels of dirt were turned to signify the beginning of construction for the school. The new 47,000 square foot facility will be built on 10 acres, house kindergarten through eighth grade next year and eventually more than 900 students in grades K-12 after the addition of a high school building on the same site.
