ATLANTA, Aug. 16, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AG, a modern steakhouse at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta, is celebrating its one year anniversary. Throughout September, a myriad of mini-celebrations will be offered showcasing AG’s best cocktails, honoring local farmers and unveiling of a new barrel of WhistlePig Whiskey.

After 17 years, the former Atlanta Grill had undergone a complete transformation of the restaurant and bar interiors, a redesign of the menu, and launch of a new cocktail program. To thank guests and celebrate the successes of the past year, AG anniversary events will be held Tuesday and Friday evenings in September.

Brew School Tuesdays, held every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., showcases an array of AG’s favorite Atlanta breweries. Upon arrival to the restaurant, guests will enjoy a sample of one of AG’s famous brews and will learn about the brewery from one of the masters.

Toast & Taste Fridays are presented every Friday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. when AG will feature its top beverage partners in the cocktail program. Guests will have exclusive exposure to these world-renowned brands with an interactive experience each Friday. In addition, Executive Chef Ramesh Kaduru has collaborated with local farmers to showcase some of AG’s most beloved dishes with a celebratory twist.  Guests will enjoy sips and bites from the following:

All month long, a variety of favorite menu items will be available featuring some of AG’s farmer and beverage partners. Dine on Enchanted Springs trout with snap peas, marble potatoes and a Pernod butter sauce as well as Border Springs lamb chop with poblano mint chimichurri sauce. Sip on the Instagram-worthy Pineapple Mojito with Rum Diplomatico, Moët & Chandon Ice Imperial, muddled mint and lime, topped with grilled pineapple and served up in a copper pineapple chalice.

For those looking to enjoy the finer things, an exclusive Louis XIII by Rémy Martin Dinner will be held on Friday, September 15 at in AG’s Distillery.  Each course of this four-course pre fixe menu will be paired with champagne and wines, as well as cognacs selected by Sommelier Brian White and the Brand Ambassador of Louis XIII. Guests will enjoy a lavish menu including dishes like Foie Gras with Brioche, Compressed Cherries, Chives and Marcona Almonds.  Seating is limited and reservations are accepted in groups of six. The dinner is $200 per guest, exclusive of tax and gratuity.

Last year, one of the sought after libations in AG was the Smoky Old Fashioned, created with the distinguished WhistlePig Whiskey. While WhistlePig Distillery had no plans of producing any personal barrels for 2017, AG was granted an exclusive opportunity for a personal barrel as a result of its strong partnership.  Taste the difference between the 2016 barrel and new 2017 barrel at the Barrel Unveiling on Wednesday, September 20, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. with Dave Pickerell, WhistlePig’s Master Distiller.  AG’s new barrel of WhistlePig Whiskey has aged for 10 years in a single barrel and has rich aromas of butterscotch, caramel with a long and lasting smooth finish.

In addition to the mini-celebrations, Restaurant General Manager Eddie Elrod invites guests to celebrate their anniversary at AG.  For couples whose anniversary falls in September they are encouraged to make a reservation for The Hideout, an exclusive corner table in the restaurant with a privacy curtain. This secluded evening comes with a four-course Pre Fixe Anniversary Menu by Executive Chef Kaduru highlighting AG classics.

“We are delighted to share our anniversary together with our guests,” says Elrod, “The fall season brings a sense of warmth and closeness which a night together with your special someone in The Hideout is all about.” The Anniversary Menu will be priced at $115 per guest and includes signature wine pairings featuring bottles of wine that have been on the Wine List since opening and were hand-selected by Sommelier Brian White. The menu is offered at $85 per guest without wine parings.  The Hideout is reserved on a first come, first served basis and for this special occasion the $50 table fee will be waived.

AG features two beautifully designed private dining spaces, The Kitchen, a rustic, communal chef’s table with seating for 10, and The Distillery, a mixology experience, displaying bitters, herbs and whiskeys throughout the room with seating for 12.  During September when a group reserves a private space they will receive a complimentary demonstration focused on the theme of the room.  The Kitchen will offer a 30-minute chef’s presentation with complimentary amuse-bouche for the table, while The Distillery extends a 30-minute sommelier demonstration with complimentary aperitifs for each guest. To reserve a private dining venue, please contact Eddie Elrod by phone at (404) 221-6550 or by email [email protected].
