ROCKVILLE, Md., Aug. 11, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Today, the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) congratulates the 192 regulatory professionals who earned Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) during the recent spring 2017 exam period.

The RAC credential is earned by passing one of four exams, and is the only professional credential specifically for regulatory professionals in the healthcare product sector. RAC holders must maintain their certification through continuous learning and professional development, recertifying every three years. Currently, there are more than 4,500 RAC-credentialed professionals around the world.

“Earning and maintaining the RAC credential demonstrates not only regulatory knowledge and critical thinking skills, but also a strong commitment to staying current and continuing to learn and engage with the professional community,” said RAPS Executive Director Paul Brooks.

The four different RAC certifications available are: the RAC (US) covering US regulations, the RAC (EU) covering European regulations, the RAC (CAN) covering Canadian regulations and the RAC (Global), which covers general regulatory responsibilities and international standards. RAC exams and the criteria for maintaining the credential are developed, managed and administered by the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board (RACB) with support from RAPS.

The next RAC exam period will be this autumn. Exams will be administered at dozens of locations across globe in October and November. Registration is now open for each of the four exams, and the deadline to apply is 1 September. For more information, visit RAPS.org/rac.
