CALGARY, Alberta, Aug. 09, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cameron MacGillivray, President and Chief Executive Officer of Enform Canada, has announced his intention to retire at the end of September, 2017, after leading the safety association for more than five years.
John Rhind, who worked for more than 30 years in the oil and gas industry, including serving as Vice President, Oil Sands with Shell Canada Ltd., has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer by Enform’s Board of Directors. Murray Elliott, a director of Enform and General Manager for Shell Canada’s Greater Deep Basin, has been appointed President. Both appointments are effective September 1, 2017.
MacGillivray’s retirement is concurrent with the anticipated closure of a merger agreement between Enform and the Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA). MacGillivray is scheduled to retire on Sept. 30, 2017 and will support Rhind and Elliott through a transition period.

The appointment of John Rhind and Murray Elliott will ensure a seamless transition into the newly-formed organization, which will be responsible for leading and accelerating improvements in safety performance across the oil and gas industry. John Rhind was instrumental in creating the vision for the new merged safety organization when it was first conceived in 2015.

MacGillivray joined Enform also after more than 30 years in the oil and gas industry, including more than 20 years with Encana Corp., culminating as senior vice-president in charge of international operations. From there he moved to President and CEO of Endev Energy Inc.
Rhind has worked in various capacities in the sector, primarily focused on oil sands operations. He joined Shell Canada in 2008, as the Chief Operating Officer for Albian Sands Energy and was responsible for integrating Albian into Royal Dutch Shell.
Elliott has also had an extensive career with Shell Canada. Prior to his current role he served as Vice President, Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainable Development with Shell’s Heavy Oil division. While at Shell, Murray also served as President of the industry’s Oil Sands Developers Group as it transitioned into the Oil Sands Community Alliance.
