CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Nov. 03, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dimension Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:DMTX), a biopharmaceutical company advancing novel, adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapies targeting the liver, a key organ for human metabolism, today announced a poster presentation that highlights Dimension’s leadership in the development of improved AAV-based vectors for diverse therapeutic applications. Preclinical in vivo research conducted with Dimension’s collaborators at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) demonstrates that the choice of capsid, a key component of AAV vectors, has a significant impact on both product efficiency and immunogenicity in preclinical studies relating to liver gene therapy. The poster presentation will take place during the 58th ASH Annual Meeting, which is being held in San Diego, California, December 3-6, 2016.

“We are excited to present data at this year’s ASH conference that will highlight research supporting the choice of AAV capsids for our broad product development pipeline in metabolic diseases and hemophilia,” said Dr. Annalisa Jenkins, MBBS, FRCP, Chief Executive Officer of Dimension. “These findings, resulting from a highly productive translational research collaboration with the lab of James Wilson, MD, PhD, a professor of Medicine and Pediatrics in the Perelman School of Medicine at Penn, demonstrate our commitment to generating and communicating important data that supports the translation of gene therapy science into the clinic.”

The poster presentation details are as follows:
