CHICAGO, Oct. 27, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Leonard B. Kobren, DDS, was honored with the Founders Society Award by the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) Education Foundation. This award is presented to those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the growth and future of the ACP Education Foundation (ACPEF).
Dr. Kobren has played a significant role in the development of the Foundation for over 15 years serving as one of the first Chairs of the Annual Appeal, an active supporter, and a member of the Foundation Board for nine years. Dr. Kobren was recognized during the 46th Annual Session of the ACP held in San Diego from Oct. 5-8, 2016.
Dr. Kobren is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and earned his DDS degree from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. He then went on to serve as a rotating dental resident at the Westchester County Medical Center.
Dr. Kobren received his certificate in prosthodontics from the New York University College of Dentistry. Currently he teaches and serves on the Advisory Board of the New York City College of Technology. He also maintains a private group practice in White Plains, New York founded by his late father, Abraham, a past president of the American Dental Association.
He is the chair of the ACP Task Force for Graduate Medical Education Funding, the former chair of the ACP Educational Foundation and is a fellow and past president of the Northeastern Gnathological Society. He is a Fellow and serves on the Council of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, and chairs the Ninth District Dental Association’s Annual Restorative Conference.
