PITTSBURGH, Oct. 11, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Former CBS News anchorman Dan Rather will headline the American Middle East Institute (AMEI) annual business conference in Pittsburgh on October 18. His on-stage remarks at Carnegie Music Hall will cap a daylong event focused on emerging health and energy opportunities in the Middle East.

Adding, “Few Americans can say they’ve seen it all, but Dan has. From covering the earliest days of the Civil Rights Movement and Vietnam, to the accelerated change we’re witnessing here and in the countries of the Middle East, his experience offers a unique perspective for our times. We’re grateful to have him in our city.”

Prior to Mr. Rather’s remarks, conference participants to the morning and afternoon presentations will hear from a lineup including His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Rady, Minister of Health and Population, Arab Republic of Egypt, and Dr. Basmah Al-Buhairan, Health Sector managing director for Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority.
