Burlingame, Aug. 08, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Silicon Valley-based company, MotionDSP, today announced its second major release of 2016 for its advanced video redaction software, Ikena Spotlight. The new release focuses on making the software faster and easier to use than ever before through GPU-accelerated object tracking and encoding as well as a simplified user interface that requires very little training or technical knowledge. In addition to speed and UI improvements, the release features the ability to automatically generate redaction reports so all video and audio redactions that are made can be tracked for presentation in court or for the press for increased transparency and accountability.

In its March release, MotionDSP completely rebuilt Ikena Spotlight from the ground up with new tracking algorithms and features like audio redaction, the ability to trim videos to produce pertinent clips as well as create snapshots of a single redacted video frame, and an audio waveform bar to quickly identify when dialogue takes place in a video.
The latest release builds upon those features by adding several speed improvements like GPU encoding and parallel processing that lets users redact multiple people or objects simultaneously. The user interface has been simplified to make it easier to learn and use for all technical skill levels. One of the most important additions to the software is the redaction report that users can generate to document all video and audio redactions made to the video. This feature was created at the request of numerous law enforcement professionals and district attorneys to improve transparency and accountability.
