CLEVELAND, Nov. 02, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — After a successful Rhonda’s Kiss benefit in Cleveland in July that raised $600,000 to help cancer patients in need, Marc A. Stefanski and his family are hosting a similar event tomorrow, November 3, at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.

The evening will feature live musical performances from pop-singer-songwriter Kesha; rocker Billy Idol; comedian Bill Burr; and The Hellcat Saints featuring: Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), Juliette Lewis (Juliette & The Licks), Duff Mckagan (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver), Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses), Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver), Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), and Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Devo, A Perfect Circle).

As a tribute to his late wife Rhonda, who passed away last November from pancreatic cancer, Stefanski and his children created Rhonda’s Kiss to raise money to help those in the inner city who receive a cancer diagnosis of any type, but may be unable to make ends meet for treatment and support. Rhonda’s Kiss will provide financial support to designated organizations in host cities to decrease late-stage cancer diagnosis in urban communities and for patients in financial need.

“With the success of Rhonda’s Kiss in Cleveland last summer, we continue to raise money to try and help those who are diagnosed with cancer, but may be unable to make ends meet during treatment. We wanted to expand our outreach and fundraising efforts,” Marc A. Stefanski said. “Kyle (Marc and Rhonda’s son) lives in the Los Angeles area and knows how great the need is there. The more money we are able to raise, the more people we can help fight this terrible disease.”

Funds raised through Rhonda’s Kiss Los Angeles will be donated to City of Hope, in Duarte, California, a world leader in the research and treatment of cancer, diabetes, and other serious diseases. City of Hope strives to make lives whole again through their approach to treatment.

Founded in 1913, City of Hope is one of only 45 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, as designated by the National Cancer Institute.
