MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cognosante has announced the hiring of Megan Renfrew as a Director in its Solutions Lab. Megan, who held a number of roles at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is an exceptionally accomplished health policy expert whose experience includes drafting healthcare bills for the United States House of Representatives and providing key research and advice for the Maine Governor’s Office of Health Reform. She will play an integral role in developing key initiatives for Cognosante’s Solutions Lab, which is dedicated to addressing the needs of the rapidly changing U.S. healthcare system through the application of deep subject matter expertise and innovative technology.

Megan served as a Technical Director at CMS, liaising between states and CMS subject matter experts in Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program eligibility and systems operations and leading teams responsible for collecting and analyzing key healthcare data. In addition to federal and state government experience, she has also held roles with Vinson and Elkins LLP and Human Rights Watch’s HIV/AIDS program. Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University, a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University, and a Juris Doctor from the Columbia University School of Law.
