Sanchez-Ramos of the University of Florida has joined Verde Science as a consultant to lead the research team for the study of a cannabis preparation in the treatment of Huntingtons Disease.

Dr. Juan R. Sanchez-Ramos is a distinguished researcher in the field of Neurotoxicology and Parkinsons Disease. Dr. Sanchez-Ramos is Professor in the Department of Neurology and the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology, is the Vice Chair for Research for the Department and holds the Helen E. Ellis Endowed Chair for Parkinson’s Disease Research.

Dr. Sanchez-Ramos graduated with his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1976 and has since been involved in cutting edge studies and has been a prolific publisher of research in medical journals over the last 27 years. Dr. Sanchez-Ramos has been involved in many neurotoxicology studies of various narcotic derivatives and is a lead researcher in the field of Parkinsons Disease in the U.S. He holds numerous patents for devices and delivery systems for treatment and cellular repair. Dr. Sanchez-Ramos has personally consulted for a large number of projects, foundations and companies including Elan Pharma, SmithKline Beecham and Lundbeck Inc.

Dr. Juan Sanchez-Ramos has previous experience in clinical studies of Huntington’s Disease as well as the effects of Cannabinoids for the treatment of movement disorders.
