ADVISORY, Oct. 16, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —

What:

In recognition of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), a group of federal officials and digital industry leaders will visit the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square to close the market.

Convened by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), the nation’s leading nonprofit public-private partnership promoting the safe and secure use of the Internet and digital privacy, the delegation will feature leading cybersecurity experts and C-suite executives as well as senior officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Now in its 12th year, NCSAM is co-sponsored by DHS and NCSA, who lead a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. Observed annually in October, NCSAM includes the participation of a multitude of industry leaders – reaching consumers, small- and medium-size businesses, corporations and educational institutions.

In honor of the occasion, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson (invited) will ring the Closing Bell, culminating a day-long cybersecurity summit at the Nasdaq where attendees will discuss “Securing the Internet of Things.” In the morning, NCSA will host a C-suite cybersecurity press forum featuring senior executives from AT&T, BlackBerry, Cisco, Ellis & Associates, Intel, PKWARE, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, RSA, the security Division of EMC and Symantec. A luncheon will follow, where a group of distinguished government and private sector panelists will continue the conversation concerning the transformative potential of IoT and its cybersecurity and digital privacy implications.
