“These two awards are meaningful to all of us who have worked hard to make our programs in Hawaii and Alaska the best adventures possible,” said Captain Dan Blanchard, CEO.

The Magellan awards honor a broad range of industry segments including hotels, destinations, airlines and more.  The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a panel of top travel professionals picked by Travel Weekly, a national newspaper of the travel industry.

“We appreciate travel professionals and their dedication to learning the intricacies of our innovative trips to better serve their clients,” said Tim Jacox, president and COO.

The 36-guest Safari Explorer sails adventure cruises in Hawaii from November through April.  Hawaii cruises sail one-way between Hawai‘i and Moloka‘i or reverse and explore four islands—Hawai’i, Lana’i, Maui and Moloka’i.  With an aft swim step and a full complement of water sports equipment, guests aboard the Safari Explorer enjoy the freedom of water exploration. Guided tours ashore are also included.

In Alaska, many Un-Cruise Adventures itineraries include a visit of one or two days inside Glacier Bay National Park. Guests are able to explore the park off the ship with opportunities for hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding and skiff excursions. In 2016, the 60-guest Wilderness Adventurer and 36-guest Safari Explorer spend two days inside Glacier Bay National Park for deeper exploration of the fjords, glaciers and wildlife.

Celebrating 20 years in 2016, the company has expanded from operating yachts in Alaska to operating a fleet of eight small ships carrying 22-88 guests. Boutique yachts, expedition vessels and small ships sail adventure and river cruises in Alaska, Hawaiian Islands, Mexico’s Sea of Cortés, coastal Washington, British Columbia and the Columbia and Snake Rivers. In 2016, eight departures will be offered in the Galápagos Islands and adventure cruising begins in Costa Rica and Panamá.  An all Panamá adventure cruise begins in 2017.
