The German media company is using Informatica’s leading cloud integration capabilities and T-Systems’ secure cloud to connect data, applications and processes between the company’s cloud and on-premise systems in real-time. By synchronizing information, Verlag Dierichs is enhancing its media subscriber base.

Verlag Dierichs GmbH + Co. KG publishes the ‘Hessian / Niedersächsische Allgemeine’ (HNA), a regional newspaper with a circulation of 150,000 copies. The online edition–HNA.de–is fast becoming the largest news portal in the region. It is also highly innovative, using services, such as YouTube and WhatsApp Messenger, to provide readers with news.

The challenge for Verlag Dierichs was to attract new subscribers and retain existing ones. As part of this, the company needed to make all of its data available more quickly–and in the right format–across the organization. The DOaaS solution from T-Systems, with Informatica Cloud at the center, integrates and synchronizes information from Verlag Dierichs’ own data center and in the cloud. This includes Salesforce, SAP and data from the media consultants in the field.
As a result, Verlag Dierichs’ sales team is able to collect and share rich, diverse intelligence on advertisers and subscribers, which can be used to identify potential opportunities. This information includes subscribers’ profiles, preferences and behavior of advertising clients. Changes can also be incorporated quickly–such as an advertiser’s new email address–with all the related systems being updated simultaneously.
The T-Systems and Informatica solution connects on-premise and cloud systems, with the publisher retaining full control over its data. All information, appointments and correspondence from readers and advertisers are centrally available and can be used immediately by the marketing team.
Reinald Grebe adds, “We can quickly identify potential new subscriber accounts and target them, just before their trial subscription expires. I think it’s just a matter of time before we run other services in the cloud from T-Systems.”
