SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y., Sept. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Old School Favorites, a small Southampton-based artisanal food company that specializes in all-natural chocolate “Szauce” and maple-glazed “Nutsz,” was recently selected as a finalist in the Martha Stewart American Made National Competition. Fans can cast their vote on the Old School Favorites’ American Made Profile beginning September 21, 2015, with the winner announced on October 23.

Each year, the Martha Stewart American Made Competition spotlights small-business owners, local artisans and creative entrepreneurs who embody the spirit of “American Made.” The competition is designed to celebrate small business owners across the country that are changing the fabric of the economy, and to encourage U.S. patrons to support the local and the handmade. Winners are chosen by the editors of Martha Stewart Living, with the addition of one Audience Choice Winner in one of the following fields: Crafts, Style, Food and Design. A number of factors are used by the judges to evaluate and determine the group of finalists, including originality, customer service, quality, visual appeal and engagement of community.

Founded in 2013 on the East End of Long Island, Old School Favorites is a family-owned business that sources organic, locally grown ingredients for its all-natural dessert products, and does not use any preservatives, additives or artificial ingredients. Its signature chocolate “Szauce” has been featured in Hamptons Magazine, PureWow, WellWed New York, and Modern Luxury, among many other publications. As an active member of the Long Island community, Old School Favorites participates in numerous Farmer’s Markets and Fleas, and works closely with other small businesses and local charities to give back to the community.
