WASHINGTON, Sept. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is proud to announce that John Mingé, chairman and president of BP America, will join USHCC President and CEO Javier Palomarez for a Q &A session at the organization’s 2015 National Convention on Sept. 22, 2015 in Houston.

In his address to the USHCC’s annual conference, Mingé will discuss the latest developments in the energy industry, U.S. economic policy, the growth of America’s Hispanic population and the keys to expanding opportunity.

“The USHCC is proud to have John Mingé join us at this year’s national convention,” said USHCC President and CEO Javier Palomarez. “John has brought a new vision and focus to BP America since taking the helm in 2013. Through John’s leadership, BP has made key investments in diversity and inclusion programs, tapping into America’s highest-yielding resource: minority-owned businesses. Our members are thrilled to have such an industry leader join us, and I look forward to having a robust conversation about a topic so essential to our country’s future.”

BP America, headquartered in Houston, has spent more than $4.5 billion with diverse suppliers since 2008, and was one of the first major corporations to create a formal program to increase purchases from minority- and women-owned businesses. It has given such companies tremendous opportunities for growth in Houston, along the Gulf Coast and throughout the United States.
