ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 8, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kucera Properties announced today its iconic One Progress Plaza Class A office tower will be renamed Priatek Plaza in honor of Priatek™, a St. Petersburg high-tech business pioneering the use of interactive kiosks in global mass marketing.
Darin Kucera, managing partner of Kucera Properties, said research shows Priatek Plaza will be the only Class A office tower in the United States named for a technology startup.
“By assigning naming rights for this premier property to our tenant Priatek, we are signaling our firm’s belief in the West Florida region’s burgeoning technology sector and the visionary entrepreneurs who are making history here every day,” said Kucera.
“This is exactly the type of high-quality tenant we are seeking to develop relationships with for the remaining space in our landmark building.”
According to Entrepreneur Magazine, a thriving startup community that is creating jobs typically attracts vitality – and cash – to a region. “We want technology startups and mature technology companies not to be just a trend in the St. Petersburg region, but a long-term phenomenon,” said Kucera. “Renaming One Progress Plaza to Priatek Plaza is of major historic significance because it is an outward sign of our belief in that vision for our region.”
With 28 floors and a height of 386 feet, Priatek Plaza is the tallest office building in Pinellas County and among the three tallest on Florida’s west coast.
The tower has more than 309,000 square feet of office and retail space and currently boasts a 90% percent occupancy rate, with just over 30,000 square feet still available for a quality tenant seeking a 5- or 10-year lease.
The official renaming ceremonies are planned for Sept. 17 at the building at 1:30 p.m.
Terms of the renaming deal were not disclosed.
