Proceeds from the TOPS 5K/10K Run and Family Walk benefit the cutting-edge research and patient care programs that benefit those who turn to Roswell Park for cancer support. Donations are further used to improve the patient and family experience, support new clinical treatments and procedures, provide proper clinical space to meet the increasing demand for cancer services, and educate the next generation of cancer scientists and clinicians.

Healthy Ones historically has supported initiatives to help find a cure for cancer. In addition to the TOPS Run and Family Walk activation, Healthy Ones will donate five cents per tub of lunchmeat and five cents per pound of deli meat sold during October, with a maximum program donation of $50,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

“Research is essential in fighting and finding a cure for this disease,” said Chuck Gitkin, senior vice president of marketing, Smithfield Foods. “Healthy Ones understands the importance of supporting communities that our consumers and employees live and work in. Knowing that this donation will stay here in Buffalo and support the tens-of-thousands who rely on Roswell Park is extremely important to us.”

Healthy Ones, a brand of Smithfield Foods, can be found in the refrigerated lunchmeat and deli section of chain and local grocery stores across the country. Each variety of Healthy Ones ham, turkey breast, chicken breast and roast beef are certified by the American Heart Association.
