Armour “Great Moms” Campaign Celebrates Raleigh Police Officer

LISLE, Ill., Sept. 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Armour, the makers of great and convenient products including frozen meatballs, pepperoni and portable meal kits honored an unsung hero today.  Armour hosted a special surprise at the Junior League office in Raleigh, N.C. to honor Lea Martin as part of their campaign to recognize “Great Moms” across the country.

Martin, a single mother, is a Raleigh police officer who is known for going above and beyond to give back to the community, as well as being a great mom to her three daughters.  Martin makes sure her daughter’s needs are met as she balances her own busy work schedule.

In addition to her work on the police force, where she serves the Greater Raleigh community, Martin has demonstrated that she is a “Great Mom” to her daughters.  Martin does it all – from coaching her daughters’ t-ball teams to driving them to hip-hop dance classes, doing crafts and planning movie nights at home.  In everything Martin does, she shows her daughters love and affection while at the same time teaching them to be responsible, caring, loving, tough and hardworking.

Martin was celebrated during an event at the Junior League office in Raleigh, NC in front of her family, friends and co-workers. To recognize Martin for being a “Great Mom” and community leader, Armour surprised Martin with $2,500 in free groceries at Food Lion.

“Lea Martin exemplifies the spirit of the Armour ‘Great Moms’ campaign,” said Jennifer Zmrhal, Senior Director, Marketing, Smithfield Foods.  “She has not only shown dedication to her community, but is also a wonderful mom to her three daughters.  We are honored to celebrate and reward her with $2,500 in free groceries at Food Lion.”

Armour was pleased to partner with Food Lion to recognize and reward Martin as part of their “Great Moms” campaign.

The campaign is a national program designed to highlight and reward everyday great moms across the country.  “Great Moms” often go without praise and Armour is helping to change that by showing its appreciation for these everyday champions.

The campaign includes monthly events through November to surprise and celebrate “Great Moms” across the country for their extraordinary efforts in their communities and at home.

“This is amazing, $2,500 is going to help our family in a huge way,” said Martin.  “It’s an honor that companies like Food Lion and Armour take the time to celebrate individuals in the community, I appreciate that they chose to honor me.”

Armour is currently hosting the “Great Moms” sweepstakes. From now through November 30, look for specially marked Armour products or visit www.armourgreatmoms.com to enter for a chance to win up to $5,000 in free groceries.  No purchase is necessary to enter the sweepstakes.
