ODESSA, Texas, Sept. 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The cable-deployed, inverted ESP system was landed in a modified x-nipple and sealed off at the wellhead with a modified stuffing box.  The unit started without issues and surfaced fluid within 30 minutes.

Initial production rate was exactly as predicted at 300 BFPD. Novomet USA, Inc. and WellPro Solutions LLC have successfully deployed and commissioned the world’s smallest diameter Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) System inside of 2-7/8” tubing without using a conventional rig.  This feat was accomplished using a modified industrial cable spooling device and was run to a depth of 4,600’ in less than 30 minutes.

The Ultra Slim 2.17” O.D. Inverted ESP system is designed to be installed in 2-7/8” production tubing.  It has an operating range of 100 – 900 BFPD and can be set as deep as 12,000’.  Typical applications include sucker rod pump wells with history of frequent well interventions and offshore applications with high well intervention costs.
