The award for Scrap Company of the Year was announced June 14 at the annual AMM awards dinner at the Edison ballroom in New York City. Weitsman was nominated from a pool of thousands of scrap metal recycling companies and then chosen as one of two finalists along with Jefferson Iron and Metal Brokerage. Upstate Shredding – Weitsman Recycling was also named 2015 Scrap Company of the Year at an awards ceremony last June. The award for scrap company of the year represents the largest honor in scrap and recycling to be given to a firm in North America.
