COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 27, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The revamp of London City Schools’ website is aimed to improve communication between the district and community.

The new custom-designed site launched just weeks ago improves navigation, organization and places more emphasis on students and staff with a banner display of photos. The website is built on a content management system created specifically for schools and is the same vendor used by Madison-Plains, West Jefferson and recently acquired Jonathan Alder, all of Madison County’s other public school districts.

London Superintendent Lou Kramer wanted Columbus-based eSchoolView to complete the overhaul because the cloud-based software is cost-effective and easy-to-use. He also said the ability to package multiple products will help parents more readily find and manage information about their children and/or school.

“The new site really allows us to showcase the pride of London City Schools and our many accomplishments,” he said. “We also incorporated our social media channels to truly connect with our families and the greater community so we can give an up-to-the-minute view of what is happening in and around our district.”

London’s site will soon have a compatible, responsive mobile version that updates in real time and can be viewed on multiple devices without compromising design or functionality. This benefit, school officials said, was critical because of the prevalence of hand-held devices.

“We build websites for schools, but we see our primary role as building relationships,” eSchoolView’s Executive Director Rob O’Leary said. “It’s vital for the stakeholders of a school system to have access to information that helps drive their investment in their community.”

eSchoolView’s Content Management System (CMS) has more than 20 components. News articles, videos, photo galleries, surveys, quizzes and more can easily be added to any page or section.

Staff members will have access to share information on the tailor-made site and teachers will have the ability to create their own pages. Posting information is as simple as working in a word processing document and requires no previous knowledge of website design techniques.

eSchoolView’s OneView and Instant Connect were also packaged with the content management system to improve connections, O’Leary said. OneView will allow parents to access various pieces of student information from one login rather than various accounts. Instant Connect will dispatch emergency alerts and other important information immediately to stored contact information in the student database.

“The new site reflects who we are as a district,” Kramer said, “and the energy our students and staff give one another.”

eSchoolView was created in 2008. Its revenue growth lands the company near the top third (at 1907) of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 list of fastest growing privately held companies in the U.S. for the second consecutive year. CIOReview named in 2015 eSchoolView as one of 50 Most Promising Education Tech Solution Providers.
