LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (“NACD SoCal”) today announced the expansion of its Chapter leadership with the appointment of Rafael Pastor to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Pastor has more than 25 years of senior management and corporate governance experience. He currently serves on the Boards or Advisory Boards of Boost Academy, insureWell, MD Revolution, Knowledge Universe, RosettaBooks, and Thuzio. He also serves as an advisor to a major international private equity firm. Previously, he served nine years as Chairman & CEO of Vistage International, guiding the growth and ultimately the sale of the world’s largest for-profit chief executive membership organization with 20,000 senior executives in 15 countries. He was also the Co-Founder & Co-Chairman of Sonenshine Pastor, an investment banking and venture capital firm, now Sonenshine Partners, where he remains a senior advisor.

Previously, Mr. Pastor has held senior executive positions at global media and entertainment companies including CEO of Hoyts Cinemas Corporation; President of USA Networks International; Executive Vice President, International, of News Corporation and Fox Television; and President of CBS/Fox Video International. He began his career as an attorney, first at the Wall Street law firm of Hawkins, Delafield and Wood and then as Associate General Counsel at CBS Inc.

Mr. Pastor earned a B.A. from Columbia University and a J.D. from New York University School of Law, and speaks several languages. He is also very active in civic, arts and education boards and serves as a Director of the La Jolla Music Society, the Advisory Boards of the Rady School of Management and the School of Global Strategy and Policy both at UCSD, and the Strategic Roundtable of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation.
