Skinvisible, Inc. (OTCBB: SKVI) More on news about H1N1, plus revenue model

7:19 AM CST Wed, July 29 2009 StockGuru Blog

Dear Members:

For the last few days we have spoken about DermSafe and H1N1.  While that is the biggest part of the equation to why people are showing an interest in SKVI, I have mentioned all along the company could easily stand alone on all of its other products.  Before we get to that, you know that the UK is a market that SKVI will likely be in shortly.  Because DermSafe is approved in Canada, it is essentially okay to sell in the UK with about one more step in the process to open to that market.

THIS NEWS OUT LAST NIGHT – THEY ARE PREPARING:

BBC may screen education programmes if swine flu shuts schools
The BBC could clear its schedules to broadcast educational programmes for children if schools are forced to close due to swine flu.

Government ministers are understood to have had discussions with the Corporation as part of its “contingency planning” for the swine flu pandemic.
Ministers are considering invoking an ‘emergency clause’ in the BBC’s agreement which states that in the case of an emergency, the Government has the power to make the BBC broadcast another announcement or programme than that scheduled, it has been reported.
hris Keates, general secretary of the NASUWT teaching union, said: “The Government drew up plans to deal with a flu pandemic more than 18 months ago which give indications for contingency plans, including online learning and discussions with broadcasters including the BBC and Teachers TV.”
Since the swine flu pandemic was declared, ministers have begun those discussions, she said.
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has previously said that while it expects schools and nurseries to reopen as usual in September, they “cannot be certain what the situation will be”, so some closures may be possible.

Revenue Sources are always an important means of evaluating a company’s future.  Skinvisible has four.

SKVI Revenue Source

  1. Licensing Fees
  2. Research and Development Fees
  3. Sales of Polymers
  4. Royalties from Licensed Polymers

The Business Licensing Model is an excellent example of a company that does what it does best:  research and development and then licenses their product to other companies.  This is a fantastic business model for a small company.

Skinvisible does not manufacture or sell products itself, instead the Company licenses out all of its product formulations made with Invisicare to pharmaceutical, medical and consumer goods companies. There is an upfront license fee for exclusive distribution for a specific territory (or worldwide), royalties and development fees if required. Licensees are supplied with the formula and manufacturing instructions.

Licensing of Invisicare Primary Objective®

SKVI’s primary objective is to license Invisicare® to established brand manufacturers and marketers of prescription and over-the-counter products in the dermatological, medical, cosmetic, and skincare markets. With the exception of sales to one vendor, the Company’s policy is to only sell Invisicare to vendors that have executed a license agreement. Research and development is conducted in-house. An outside party currently handles all manufacturing and distribution needs.

DermSafe – the hand lotion that acts as an H1N1 preventative  -  is approved in Canada.

In Canada DermSafe has received a drug identification number (DIN)  allowing the sale of DermSafe for personal use.

Skinvisible has been working with potential licensees for DermSafe in the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Africa and Mexico.

In some countries the product requires little or no regulatory approval.

With the approach of a flu season expected to be one of the worst in years SKVI stands ready to capitalize on their product.

DermSafe a hand sanitizing lotion, has been proven effective in killing the H1N1 virus.  DermSafe contains the patented technology Invisicare which allows the product to stay bound to the skin for up to four hours.

HINI flu according to the World Heath Organization could affect 2 billion people.

Dermsafe as a non-alcohol based product effective in killing the H1N1 virus is expected to be in great demand as the H1N1 virus strikes North America this flu season.
