Why Michael Shannon, MD from Canada? Why Canada?
Because Canada keeps up with nosocomial infections. This issue is just surfacing in the U.S. Our hospitals have kept this dirty little secret as long as they could. NOW we are having Congressional hearings and State Legislatures are regulating these issues.
BUT the United States is behind Canada, where Dr. Shannon is from and where he was Deputy Surgeon General for Canada. During the first Gulf War, he served as the senior medical liaison officer for all of the Canadian forces.
